Job summary

Securitas is seeking an Explosives Detection Dog Handler (FREDDs) in the London Heathrow area. You will work with a highly trained canine partner to detect explosives, protecting passengers, cargo and aviation assets in line with UK regulations.

Across your role you will deliver training, maintain records, and operate within a specialist security team committed to integrity, vigilance and helpfulness. A rewarding career combining dog handling and security operations awaits.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable history.
• Valid UK Driving Licence (clean licence).
• Ability to live within a 45–50 minute commute of site.
• Ability to home kennel your Securitas-provided working dog.
• Previous canine experience in detection is preferred.
• Ability to monitor canine health and administer care.
• Strong observation skills and attention to detail.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Positive attitude and love of dogs.
• Ability to work effectively within a professional team.

Responsibilities

• Screening cargo in accordance with UK regulations using canine detection methods.
• Maintaining the operational capability of the FREDDs.
• Conducting on-the-job and continuation training.
• Deploying in support of wider business operations when required.
• Producing and maintaining all training records with controlled training aids.
• Building and maintaining relationships with animals under your control.
• Recording events and incidents and resolving customer requests.
• Leading on Health & Safety matters and site compliance with regulations.
