What you will be doing?

In the role of Elementals Buyer, you will work closely with Suppliers and be responsible for:

  • Analysing the market and looking at trends to understand demand.
  • Working with elemental ingredients – alloy, nickel, titanium, steel, platinum, rare earths, and platinum group metals.
  • Implementing strategic sourcing strategies and process improvements.
  • Working with large data sets and influencing key business decisions for current manufacturing programmes.
  • Contract management: contractual terms, negotiations, pricing.
  • Market research, looking at trends and presenting insights.
  • Managing financial risk.

Who we are looking for:

  • Industrial background in metals is preferred but other relevant raw material market/commodity experience will be considered.
  • Experience working as a buyer in a regulated or complex industry is preferred.
  • Strategic analysis experience.
  • Product knowledge of metals or other relevant raw material such as plastics or glass.
  • A degree in a relevant field or CIPS qualification - desirable.
  • Good communication, influencing, and negotiation skills with focus on drawing value for the company.
