Job summary

Gi Group United Kingdom in Birmingham is seeking a Metal Finishing Operative to join our production team. You will support daily metal finishing operations including pickling, electropolishing, inspection, packing, despatch and related tasks in a hands-on environment.

The role is Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with on-site duties and occasional overnight stays. Pay starts at £12.71 per hour. Forklift experience is beneficial and some training may be available.

Qualifications

• Experience in hands-on production/processing environments.
• Ability to follow procedures and paperwork accurately.
• Willingness to work on-site and occasional overnight stays.
• Forklift training/experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming customer work and raw materials from drivers.
• Load products/work for despatch and complete relevant paperwork.
• Carry out pre-treatment where required.
• Prepare and load work for processing.
• Set processing parameters.
• Perform cleaning, pickling, passivating and electropolishing processes.
• Complete all necessary post-treatments.
• Ensure work is dried, inspected and packed to the required quality standards.
• Store raw materials as needed.
• Mix products in line with mixing instructions and orders.
• Decant chemical mixes for storage or despatch.
• Carry out onsite duties when required (may include overnight stays).
• Support general duties as required by the management team.
