Job description

As our Electronics Technician, you will support the manufacture, maintenance, and testing of electronic assemblies, wiring harnesses, and sensors that contribute to the operation and development of TGR Haas F1 Team's race and test cars.

Reporting to the Electronics Workshop Team Leader, you will work within the Electronics department to manufacture and test a range of electronic components and assemblies, support factory race and test car builds, and help maintain workshop equipment, tooling, and stock. Working closely with engineers and technicians across the business, you will contribute to the delivery of reliable electronic systems within a fast-paced Formula 1 environment.

This role is offered on a fixed-term basis for an initial period of 9 months to provide temporary cover during a period of maternity leave.

Subject to business need and the duration of the absence being covered, the contract may be extended for a further period, up to a maximum total duration of 12 months.

The fixed-term nature of this position reflects a genuine temporary requirement to ensure continuity of business operations and delivery while the substantive postholder is on maternity leave. The role is directly linked to the duration of that absence.

It is anticipated that, upon the return of the substantive postholder, the requirement for this role will cease. In such circumstances, the employment will terminate on the grounds of Some Other Substantial Reason (SOSR), namely the ending of a temporary maternity cover arrangement. Any termination will be managed in line with a fair and reasonable process, appropriate notice, and in accordance with applicable UK employment law.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Manufacture wiring harnesses, sensors, and electronic assemblies for use on and off the car.
  • Carry out maintenance and testing activities on harnesses, sensors, and electronic assemblies.
  • Support the factory race and test car build process, ensuring electronic units, sensors, and harnesses are fitted correctly.
  • Raise faults and highlight quality concerns identified during manufacturing and build activities.
Testing & Validation
  • Follow procedures provided by System Engineers to calibrate and test sensors and electronic assemblies, both on-car and at the factory.
  • Take ownership of in-house Cirris harness testing activities.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of in-house test rigs and equipment.
  • Support the verification and testing of electronic components and assemblies.
Workshop Support
  • Assist with the day-to-day management of the electronics workshop.
  • Help ensure tooling, test equipment, and stock are maintained and available for operational requirements.
  • Support the maintenance of a safe and organised working environment.
  • Contribute to the effective operation of workshop processes and activities.
  • Support the Electronics Design Engineer with feedback relating to the design and installation of chassis wiring and sensors.
  • Contribute to the definition of installation practices, manufacturing standards, operational processes, and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across engineering and production functions.
  • Support continuous improvement activities within the Electronics department.
