Job summary

New Appointments Group in Dover is seeking an Electronics Technician to test PCB assemblies, perform repairs and rework, and diagnose faults on components and boards. You will work to established procedures, read schematics, and log findings using computer systems.

The role requires soldering, use of oscilloscopes and multimeters, and a methodical approach to fault finding. A background in electronics manufacturing and strong attention to detail are expected; benefits include 25 days leave,

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within an electronics manufacturing environment.
• Experience with soldering and PCB rework is desirable.
• Strong understanding of basic electronics principles and an interest in electronics.
• Good computer literacy and ability to accurately record technical information.
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Methodical approach to fault finding and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Test PCB assemblies in line with established test procedures and specifications.
• Carry out testing, inspection, repair and rework of PCB assemblies.
• Identify and diagnose faults at component and board level.
• Carry out component replacement, soldering and desoldering.
• Repair minor PCB tracks and soldered connections.
• Use test/diagnostic equipment and log faults accurately.
• Read and interpret circuit schematics, PCB layouts and drawings.
• Investigate root causes of faults and support corrective actions.

Hours

Monday to Friday, rotating between early and late shifts, with an early finish on Fridays

Key responsibilities would be:

• Test PCB assemblies in line with established test procedures and specifications.
• Carry out the testing, inspection, repair and rework of PCB assemblies.
• Identify and diagnose faults at both component and board level.
• Carry out component replacement, soldering and desoldering.
• Repair minor PCB tracks and soldered connections.
• Use Computer Aided Repair systems to accurately record and log faults.
• Use a range of test and diagnostic equipment, including multimeters and oscilloscopes.
• Read and interpret circuit schematics, PCB layouts and technical drawings.
• Investigate root causes of faults and support the implementation of corrective actions.

Experience and skills required:

• Previous experience working within an electronics manufacturing
• Previous experience with soldering and PCB rework is desirable
• Good understanding of basic electronics principles and an interest in electronics
• Good computer literacy and the ability to accurately record technical information
• Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
• A methodical approach to fault finding and problem solving
