Orion Electrotech Ltd in Totnes, Devon, is seeking a hands-on Service Technician to diagnose faults, repair precision electronic instruments and manage the job from start to finish.

You will service, calibrate and test complex equipment, with emphasis on PCB handling, soldering and mechanical assembly. The role offers excellent benefits and a collaborative engineering environment in a growing high-tech business.

Competenze

• Previous experience in an electronics, repair, service or manufacturing environment.
• PCB handling, soldering and electronic fault-finding experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical hands‑on skills.
• Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• The ability to work independently whilst contributing to a team environment
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English

Mansioni

• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on returned electronic instruments
• Mechanical disassembly and reassembly of complex equipment
• Electronic fault finding and PCB-level repair work
• Soldering and component replacement where required
• Performing calibration and full functional testing
• Recording work accurately within the company MRP system
• Working to quality standards, procedures and service schedules
• Collaborating with engineering and production teams to ensure efficient turnaround times
• Managing your workload and providing regular progress updates
