Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Technical Project Engineer to support the development of advanced communications and electronic systems on the edge of Lincolnshire. You will coordinate project engineering activities, support product development and help deliver reliable technology for civil and military aviation customers.

The role requires a strong background in mathematics and science, experience in design engineering, and knowledge of analogue, digital, RF or embedded systems.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in engineering/technical discipline with strong maths and science.
• Experience in design engineering or product development.
• Understanding of the full product development lifecycle.
• Knowledge of electronics including analogue, digital, RF or embedded systems.
• Knowledge of FPGA, firmware or programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Python, HTML or JavaScript would be advantageous.
• Strong planning, communication and problem-solving with a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and organise activities across one or more concurrent internal development projects.
• Work with the Project Lead, Project Owner and Product Architect to plan, document and deliver project activities.
• Maintain key project documentation, including Project Quality Plans, Product Release Plans and Statements of Work.
• Schedule activities, monitor task completion and report progress against project roadmaps.
• Identify project risks, document mitigation plans and escalate issues that may affect delivery.
• Support resource planning and identify equipment, prototype PCBs, metalwork and other materials required for project activities.
• Organise project reviews, liaise with technical authorities and coordinate communication between internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to process improvements, quality initiatives and the delivery of effective engineering solutions.
