Electronics Maintenance Engineer

Location: Chelmsford, Essex (onsite role)

Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 + excellent benefits

A global leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance systems and components is seeking an Electronics Maintenance Engineer to ensure the optimal performance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment.

Role Description
  • We are looking for a mechatronics engineer with an electronics bias.
  • You will provide technical support to shift equipment engineers across silicon wafer processing, packaging, and testing.
  • Lead and participate in equipment installations, improvements, and troubleshooting of underlying issues. This equipment is housed within three clean areas requiring full gowning.
  • This is a multidisciplinary role involving hands-on work with gases, chemicals, robotics, vacuum systems, electrical, and electronics.
  • We seek a team player with excellent organizational skills, capable of managing their own time and workload efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Project work including installing new equipment and modifications, providing documentation and training.
  • Respond promptly to equipment issues, ensuring timely repairs and providing progress updates to production teams. Lead cross-functional teams and external engineers, recording actions and meeting minutes on complex issues.
  • Produce risk assessments for all equipment and oversee contractors' method statements and risk assessments, issuing permits to work.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience in a multidisciplinary role with strong electronics skills. Minimum of HNC in electronics.
