Job description

Are you an Electronics Engineer looking for a role where you can build your technical knowledge while working closely with real products and manufacturing?

Whether you are a recent Electronic Engineering graduate looking for the right opportunity to develop, or you have already gained some post-graduate industry exposure, this is a chance to join an established electronics manufacturer offering varied, hands‑on engineering work and genuine scope to progress.

Rather than focusing purely on clean‑sheet design, you will work across new product introduction, existing product support, engineering changes and manufacturing improvement. You will see how products move from engineering into production and play a direct part in solving the technical challenges that come with it.

What you’ll be doing

As an Electronics Engineer, you will work closely with engineering and production teams to support both new and existing electronic products.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting new product introduction and the transfer of products into manufacture
  • Providing practical electronics engineering support to production teams
  • Reviewing existing products and identifying opportunities to improve manufacturability
  • Supporting analogue and digital electronic design, modification and development work
  • Investigating component obsolescence and helping identify suitable alternative components
  • Supporting engineering changes and product updates
  • Assisting with testing, validation and technical evaluation
  • Helping resolve product, assembly and manufacturing-related technical issues
  • Producing and maintaining clear technical documentation and engineering records
  • Supporting the development of test equipment, jigs and other engineering tools
  • Working collaboratively across engineering, production and operations to improve product quality, reliability and efficiency
What we’re looking for

You will need a degree-level qualification in Electronics, Electronic Engineering or a closely related discipline.

A grounding in analogue and digital electronics will be important, along with the willingness to develop your practical engineering capability in a manufacturing environment.

Some post-graduate electronics engineering exposure would be advantageous, particularly within NPI, product development, manufacturing support, testing or electronic design. However, recent graduates are also encouraged to apply where you can demonstrate a strong technical foundation, practical mindset and genuine interest in electronics manufacturing.

Exposure to any of the following would be useful, although further development can be provided:
  • Microcontrollers and programmable devices
  • PCB design or drafting software such as KiCad, EasyPC or similar
  • Electronic testing and fault finding
  • NPI and engineering change
  • Component selection and obsolescence
  • Design for manufacture
  • Technical documentation
  • Quality-led or regulated manufacturing environments

Most importantly, you should enjoy practical problem-solving, be keen to learn and be comfortable working with colleagues across both engineering and production.

Why consider this role?

This is an opportunity to develop into a well-rounded Electronics Engineer rather than being limited to one narrow area of electronics.

You will gain exposure across design support, NPI, manufacturing, testing and the ongoing development of existing products, giving you a strong understanding of the complete product lifecycle.

The business is looking for someone who can grow with the engineering team, with opportunities to take on greater technical responsibility as your capability develops.
