Job summary

Platform Recruitment is seeking an Electronics Engineering Consultant for Cambridgeshire, on-site. You will design electronics across diverse client projects, covering analogue, digital, mixed-signal and FPGA systems, and evolve ideas from concept to working hardware.

You will test and debug designs, work directly with clients to understand their problems, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust solutions for defence and national security clients.

Qualifications

• Solid electronics design experience at board or system level.
• Strong academic background in electronics, physics or a related field.
• Good communication skills and ability to engage with clients.
• Commercial awareness with a practical, problem-solving mindset.
• Eligible for UK security clearance.

Responsibilities

I’m working with a growing technology consultancy in Cambridgeshire that develops cutting edge solutions for defence and national security clients. They’re looking for Electronics Engineering Consultants to design and develop new technology across a wide range of projects, from early concept through to working hardware.

This role suits a strong engineer who enjoys variety, likes working directly with clients and wants to see their ideas turned into real products.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing electronics across a range of client projects
• Working on analogue, digital, mixed signal and FPGA based systems
• Taking ideas from concept and prototype through to working hardware
• Testing, debugging and proving out designs
• Working directly with clients to understand their problems and present solutions
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of engineers and scientists

What you’ll bring

• Solid electronics design experience, at board or system level
• A strong academic background in electronics, physics or similar
• Good communication skills and confidence working with clients
• Commercial awareness and a practical, problem solving approach
• Eligible for UK security clearance

Nice to have

• FPGA experience (blended electronics and FPGA profiles are welcome)
• RF, sensors or signal processing experience
• A consultancy or defence background
