Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking an Electronics Engineer to specify, develop and commission electronic hardware for Automated Test Equipment and automation projects within a manufacturing environment.

The role reports to the Engineering Manager and involves maintenance, fault diagnosis, designing electronic solutions, and supporting customers with gas sensor integrations, while collaborating with R&D, Production, and Quality to transition products into manufacture.

Qualifications

  • HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in an electronic engineering role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability in analogue and digital circuit design, development, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of PCB design principles and proficiency with KiCad or equivalent software, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and generation of Gerber files and BOMs.
  • Working knowledge of version control systems such as GitHub, GitLab, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of data acquisition hardware and techniques, such as LabJack systems or equivalent.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical assembly skills, including the wiring and construction of control cabinets.
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW and SQL databases would be beneficial; training can be provided for candidates with the willingness and aptitude to learn.
  • Exposure to robot programming, machine vision systems, or industrial automation would be an asset.
  • Ability to provide customer technical support and translate customer requirements into practical engineering solutions.
  • Experience supporting suppliers and NPI projects within a manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
  • Strong problem‑solving, fault‑finding, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver projects on time and work effectively both independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Specify, develop, source, and commission electronic hardware for new Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and automation projects.
  • Provide maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and technical support for ATE systems and manufacturing equipment.
  • Own the lifecycle of production test electronics, including fault diagnosis, calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair.
  • Design and develop electronic solutions to support business and customer requirements.
  • Provide technical support to customers integrating DD Scientific gas sensors into their instruments and systems.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, working closely with R&D, Production, and Quality teams to transition products into manufacture.
  • Manage suppliers, including the specification, sourcing, procurement, and technical evaluation of electronic components and assemblies.
  • Identify and implement improvements to product quality, reliability, efficiency, and test capability.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects and support operational performance.

Working Hours: 8:30am to 5pm Monday – Thursday & 9am to 3pm Friday

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Core Responsibilities
