Job summary

Teledyne Microwave UK, Shipley, is seeking a skilled assembler to perform delicate hand assembly of electronic devices under a microscope. You will follow procedures, work to specifications and help maintain AS9100/ISO9001 standards.

The ideal candidate has prior electronic assembly experience, high dexterity and strong attention to detail. You will collaborate with engineers and operations on redesigns and new products, contributing to lean manufacturing and a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in electronic assembly is essential.
• High level of dexterity.
• Solid, quality minded work ethic with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to read complex assembly drawings and process instructions.

Responsibilities

• Delicate hand assembly of electronic devices using soldering, epoxy and bonding techniques, specifically under microscope.
• Follow, maintain and uphold all Company Operating Procedures, Quality Instructions and associated policies.
• Work to process specifications, manufacturing instructions and required standards as determined by the product design.
• Meet requirements of line and audit inspection to maintain AS9100 and ISO9001 requirements.
• Follow written, pictorial and verbal working instructions from Engineers and other team members.
• Highlight any re-work issues and record all failures as required by company operating procedures
• Ensuring all areas are kept clean, tidy and free of ESD hazards at all times and ensure all planned maintenance responsibilities are carried out.
• Work with the Engineering team and Operations Support Engineering team during redesign and new product introduction.
• Work with the Operations Test teams and ensure smooth flow of product is maintained.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement activities and any new working initiatives.

What you'll be involved in:

• Contribute to and support all the lean manufacturing techniques adopted as part of the Teledyne Production System including 5S, Kaizen, KANBAN etc.

• Any other reasonable duties as directed by a member of Operations management.
