X4 Technology in Cambridge is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team focused on high-performance electronics. You will drive PCB design and analogue front-end development from concept to production, working closely with firmware, mechanical and systems engineers.

The role emphasises practical hands-on hardware work, prototyping, and test, with a hybrid working model and exposure to the full product lifecycle. 2–3 years of commercial electronics experience is expected.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' commercial experience in electronics engineering.
• Strong PCB design experience.
• In-depth analogue front-end knowledge.
• Hands-on with hardware, prototypes and lab equipment.

Electronics Engineer – PCB Design & Analogue

PCB Design | Analogue Front End | Product Development | Hybrid Working

We’re looking for an Electronics Engineer with around 2–3 years’ commercial experience to join a team developing high-performance electronic products for demanding, real-world applications.

The key requirements are strong PCB design experience and in-depth analogue front-end knowledge. If you enjoy getting hands‑on with hardware, solving complex engineering problems and seeing your designs progress from concept through to production, this could be a great opportunity.

You’ll work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, contributing to the development of robust, high-quality products and gaining exposure to the full product lifecycle.

What you’ll be doing

• Designing and developing electronic circuits from concept through to production
• Taking ownership of PCB design and development
• Working extensively on analogue front‑end circuitry
• Producing schematics and PCB layouts, with experience using tools such as Altium Designer
• Building and testing prototypes and supporting board bring‑up
• Debugging hardware using laboratory equipment and test tools
• Supporting verification, validation and product testing
• Working closely with firmware, mechanical and systems engineers

• Helping ensure designs meet requirements for reliability, performance and long‑term operation

What we’re looking for

The most important things are:

• 2–3 years' commercial experience in electronics engineering
• Strong practical PCB design experience
• In‑depth experience with analogue front‑end design
• Good understanding of electronic circuit design and development
• Comfortable working hands‑on with hardware, prototypes and laboratory equipment
• Experience with PCB design software such as Altium Designer
• A practical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Other experience across embedded electronics, NPI, manufacturing or product development would be beneficial, but the core focus is PCB design and analogue front‑end expertise.
