You will own designs from concept to production, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams and customers. The ideal candidate has extensive electronics hardware design experience, mixed analogue/digital design skills, and

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience in electronics hardware design.
• Experience taking designs from concept through to production.
• Mixed analogue and digital design with microcontrollers.
• Schematic capture experience (Altium).
• Laboratory environment experience.
• PCB layout and design constraints experience.
• Analytical, problem-solving and technical writing skills.
• Experience with FMEA, validation and approvals.
• Ability to work independently.
• UK Security Clearance (SC) eligible.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Design electronic hardware from concept through to production.
• Circuit design, component selection, simulation and analysis.
• Coordinate with PCB layout engineers and review layouts.
• Board bring-up, testing, measurement and fault finding.
• Support EMC, validation, compliance and qualification.
• Produce specifications, reports and test documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and customer meetings.
• Identify technical risks and manage project timescales.
• Provide technical support and mentoring to engineers.

Senior Electronics Design Engineer

Location: Luton, Bedfordshire / Remote

Hours: Monday to Friday

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electronics Design Engineer to join an innovative electronics design and manufacturing business.

This is a hands‑on role, designing complex hardware solutions for major OEM customers across sectors including Automotive, Defence & Aerospace, Medical, Communications, Clean Energy and Space.

The successful candidate will take ownership of designs from concept through to production, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design electronic hardware from concept through to production
• Circuit design, component selection, simulation and analysis
• Work with PCB layout engineers and review layouts
• Board bring-up, testing, measurement and fault finding
• Support EMC, validation, compliance and qualification
• Produce technical specifications, reports and test documentation
• Participate in design reviews and customer meetings
• Identify technical risks and manage project timescales
• Provide technical support and mentoring to other engineers

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong commercial experience in electronics hardware design
• Proven experience taking designs from concept through to production
• Mixed analogue and digital design with microcontrollers
• Schematic capture experience, ideally Altium
• Confident working in a laboratory environment
• Experience with PCB layout and design constraints
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical writing skills
• Experience with FMEA, validation and approvals
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC)
• Full UK driving licence
