Job summary

Starkey Recruitment Group is recruiting an Electronics Design Engineer for a well-established engineering business in Telford. This hybrid role offers 3 days on-site and 2 days remote, with ownership of the electronic content across the full product lifecycle.

You will design analogue and digital circuits, develop PCB layouts, ensure EMC/thermal compliance, and work with mechanical, firmware, production and purchasing teams to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong practical engineering judgement across analogue/digital design.
• Experience in electronic system architecture.
• PCB design and layout experience.
• Knowledge of EMC and thermal considerations.
• Experience with component selection, prototyping and testing.
• Familiarity with regulatory and quality requirements.
• Basic firmware for prototyping or diagnostics advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Define electronic system architecture from evolving requirements.
• Design analogue and digital circuits including control, power and communications.
• Produce schematics, PCB layouts and documentation.
• Select components based on performance and availability.
• Support prototype build, bring-up, testing and iteration.
• Take designs through validation and production.
• Collaborate with mechanical, firmware, production and purchasing teams.
• Own the overall electronic solution.
