Job summary

TechPoint Group in the UK is seeking a Buyer to manage day-to-day purchasing activity, ensuring materials are available on time and at the right quality and cost. You will work closely with operations and commercial teams to fulfil orders and drive value across electronics supply chains.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within Electronics industry in procurement, purchasing or supply chain.
• Strong communication, negotiation and supplier-management skills.
• Good analytical and organisational capability, with close attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Confident working with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve supply issues.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to cost-saving and process improvements.
• CIPS Level 3 or 4 qualification is preferred, or willingness to work towards qualification.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing: Validate quotations, place purchase orders and complete purchases within delegated limits.
• Supplier sourcing and negotiation: Identify suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, maintain relationships.
• Delivery management: Monitor acknowledgements and schedules, resolve shortages and delays.
• Inventory and cost control: Monitor stock, manage procurement costs and identify savings.
• Quality and compliance: Ensure purchased materials meet specifications and standards.
• Market and supply research: Investigate alternative sources and monitor market trends.
• Stakeholder collaboration: Work with operational, commercial and internal teams on requirements.
• Procurement support: Contribute to procurement strategies that improve efficiency.
• Travel: Occasional travel to Thetford.
