Electronics Assembly Technician | RF vacancy in Hampshire (122lw)

Are you a hands-on problem solver with a background in electronics, communications, or systems engineering?

Join our client’s Engineering Division - a cutting-edge distributor and manufacturer of RF & microwave components, test instruments, and systems, who have been supporting high-tech customers in defence, aerospace, and industry for 30+ years.

Our client offers a secure and stable engineering role with real-world impact, training and development opportunities, and the opportunity to work on state-of-the-art defence systems.

As a hands-on electronics assembly technician, you will be responsible for physically building and assembling the electronic components that make up radio equipment, such as radios, transmitters, and receivers. This includes tasks like soldering components onto circuit boards, wiring harnesses, and testing the assembled units to ensure they function correctly.

Responsibilities
  • Assembly and soldering of PCBs and electronic components
  • Crimping and connector work using hand tools
  • Testing complex electronic and RF systems post-assembly
  • Working from schematics and technical drawings
  • Supporting system build and integration processes
Essential Qualifications
  • Proven experience in electronic assembly and testing
  • PCB assembly and soldering expertise
  • Familiarity with RF and low-frequency systems
  • SC Clearance (or eligibility)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable Extras
  • Experience working with low-frequency electronics or RF (30kHz–100MHz)
  • Programming FPGAs (e.g. Efinity)
  • Electronics design and SimuLink / MATLAB experience
  • CADstar knowledge for PCB layouts
