Redline Group has recently been engaged by a leading engineering company based in Manchester. Due to recent project wins, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Electronic Design Engineer to be part of their dynamic design team.

Company Culture and Working Arrangement

The culture is highly collaborative, with engineers working together to solve engineering problems and find optimal solutions. The company currently operates a hybrid working model of 3 days onsite and 2 days from home, with everyone working together on Wednesdays.

About the Company

The company designs and manufactures electronic sensors and components for the global automation market. They are seeking an Electronic Design Engineer with strong analogue design skills and some firmware development experience using embedded C or C++.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and develop barriers for connecting intrinsically safe circuits with non-intrinsically safe circuits.
2. Design, prototype, verify, and conduct release testing of circuits.
3. Specify design components and create circuit schematics using CAD tools.
4. Develop Intrinsic Safety and EMC plans to meet relevant standards.
5. Perform verification testing of prototypes and review PCB layouts.

Key Skills and Qualifications

1. Strong understanding of electronic and engineering principles, with experience in analogue and digital circuit design.
2. Knowledge of EMC and functional safety requirements.
3. Experience with Op-Amp circuits, low power/signal transformers, and small signal SMPS is advantageous.
4. Experience in software programming is beneficial.

Additional Desirable Knowledge

Knowledge or experience in process control automation, instrumentation, or relevant legislation (ATEX, Low Voltage, EMC directives) is a plus. This role is ideal for someone with a genuine interest in analogue electronics and a solid understanding of fundamental electronic design principles.
