Qualifications

  • Experience with discrete electronic components such as passives, diodes, transistors, transformers, op-amps, and logic gates.
  • Knowledge of Flyback Transformer operation and/or design.
  • Exposure to safety-critical design and experience in the defense sector is advantageous.

Job description

Electronics Engineer

You will work with a team of multidisciplinary Engineers on development projects, providing design expertise to develop safety-critical systems throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept to implementation. The Electronics Engineer will perform hands-on engineering tasks and ensure coordination across projects. The role encourages sharing best practices and promotes efficient future development through design reuse, verification, and qualification data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Join our engineering team as an Electronic Design Engineer, developing bespoke electronic packages from the ground up.
  • Collaborate within a multi-functional team to develop innovative, high-reliability, safety-critical products.
  • Lead design methodology discussions, focusing on cost-effective and novel solutions.
  • Update existing product lines through obsolescence reviews to support legacy product usage.
  • Coordinate with mechanical design, reliability, compliance, purchasing, and manufacturing teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support product investigations, including failure mode analysis.
  • Assist manufacturing in product testing, assessment, and assembly design.
Candidate Profile:
  • BSc/HNC/HND in Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with discrete electronic components such as passives, diodes, transistors, transformers, op-amps, and logic gates.
  • Knowledge of Flyback Transformer operation and/or design; familiarity with other DC/DC topologies is a plus.
  • Proficient in assembling and testing electronic hardware.
  • Skilled in design software like CADSTAR.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing workload independently or within a team.
  • Knowledge of legal and compliance standards in design.
  • Experience in report writing and data presentation.
  • Exposure to safety-critical design and experience in the defense sector is advantageous but not essential.
