ManpowerGroup in Basingstoke is seeking an Electronic Assembly Inspector for a high-precision electronics manufacturer. You will inspect assemblies, harnesses and PCBs to IPC standards, performing first-off, in-process and final inspections.
You will read schematics, use microscopes, contribute to root-cause analysis and 5S/continuous improvement, and ensure ISO9001 and IATF16949 compliance. Role pays £13.50 per hour with weekly pay and a temp-to-perm pathway.

You’ll be joining a high-precision electronics manufacturer specialising in complex assemblies, harnesses, and PCB builds for automotive, aerospace, defence, and other high-technology sectors. The team builds products to the highest IPC standards, and they’re looking for an experienced inspector who takes real pride in quality.
You’ll be responsible for inspection and verification of electronic assemblies, wiring harnesses, and PCB builds to ensure every product meets strict quality and customer requirements. This includes first-off, in-process, and final inspections across both prototype and production work.
IPC inspections of electronic components, assemblies, and harnesses to IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620.
Verifying soldering, crimping, and assembly workmanship against drawings and specifications.
Conducting first-off, in-process, and final inspections.
Ensuring no non-conforming product is released.
Supporting FAI / FAIR reporting.
Identifying defects and contributing to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Working closely with production and engineering to improve build quality.
Supporting continuous improvement and 5S activities.
Ensuring compliance with ISO9001 and IATF16949 procedures.
IPC-A-610 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (mandatory).
Ability to inspect to Class 3 requirements.
Strong experience inspecting electronic assemblies and wiring harnesses.
Confident reading electronic drawings, wiring diagrams, and build documentation.
Skilled with microscopes, magnifiers, multimeters, continuity testers, etc.
Good understanding of ESD precautions.
High attention to detail and able to work with minimal supervision.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Comfortable using PCs for documentation and reporting.
Experience in automotive, aerospace, defence, or other high-tech manufacturing is desirable.
Good GCSEs (or equivalent) in English & Maths.
