Job summary

Electus Recruitment Solutions in Hertfordshire, UK, seeks an Electronic Architect to own complex architectures from concept to delivery in a defence environment. You will shape hardware/software solutions and drive systems-level design.

You will lead technical delivery with engineering teams, translate requirements into design, and influence roadmaps while balancing performance, reliability, safety and regulatory needs. Hybrid working is offered.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics Engineering or closely related field
• Strong background in digital electronics and microprocessor-based systems
• Experience defining electronic architectures for complex products or equipment

• Security clearance: British citizen able to obtain SC clearance

Electronic Architect

Take ownership of complex electronic architectures that influence product direction from concept through delivery. You'll shape technical solutions, broaden your systems-level expertise and build towards senior technical leadership within a highly advanced defence environment.

Essential requirements

• British Citizen able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance


• Degree qualified in Electronics Engineering or a closely related discipline


• Strong background in digital electronics and microprocessor-based systems


• Experience defining electronic architectures for complex products or equipment


• Ability to lead technical decision-making and engage effectively with stakeholders

Salary and rewards

Salary circa £70,000 depending on experience, plus an annual performance bonus of up to 21%.

• Define electronic and electrical architectures for advanced high-performance equipment


• Translate system requirements into lower-level design requirements and technical solutions


• Lead technical delivery activities alongside engineering and project teams


• Balance performance, reliability, safety and environmental considerations within challenging operating conditions


• Influence future technology roadmaps, research activities and product strategies


• Support customer engagement and technical reviews throughout the development lifecycle

Your experience

• Electronic architecture, systems design or lead electronic engineering experience


• Knowledge of digital electronics, embedded processing and distributed power systems


• Understanding of software and firmware development approaches


• Experience designing equipment for safety-critical or highly regulated environments


• Familiarity with thermal management and compact electronic packaging techniques


• Exposure to RF technologies, signal processing, electromagnetic compatibility or software-defined systems would be advantageous
