Position: Electronic and Electrical Support Engineer (Permanent)

Location: Hertfordshire Area

Industry: Space and Defence

Description: An Electronic and Electrical Support Engineer is required within an Advanced Space and Defence Services Organisation. The role involves working on technical Space and Defence projects, shaping the future of Space and Defence Engineering.

The Engineer will facilitate Space and Defence Engineering activities, with experience in Systems Assembly, Integration, and Testing. The role is onsite due to the nature of the products/platforms involved.

Responsibilities

• Design and specification support for systems (e.g., Electronic Propulsion, Radio Frequency, Central Systems)
• Aligning design with requirement engineering processes (Traceability/Compliance matrix, etc.)
• Review of supplier documentation and RID generation during tender and reviews
• Supporting major customer review processes
• Producing technical documentation (Design reports, User Manuals, Test Procedures)
• Oversight of manufacturing processes, including procurement
• Managing and prioritizing manufacturing activities
• Validation and certification for system use
• First-level support for the systems facility, including commissioning, procedures, and training

Qualifications and Skills

• Degree in engineering, preferably in electrical or electronics systems
• Relevant experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree
• Strong industrial background in Space and Defence preferred
• Understanding of technical challenges in the field
• Hands-on engineering skills for solving complex problems
• Knowledge of Space and Defence Systems Engineering and Platforms
• Customer-facing and business development experience is advantageous

Security clearance is required; applications from British Nationals able to obtain UK SC clearance are preferred.
