We are seeking an Electron Microscopy Technologist (post-doctoral level) for an initial three-year period (with potential extension) to oversee cellular electron microscopy services at the Structural Biology Core of the Discovery Research Platform for Hidden Cell Biology, University of Edinburgh.
The platform, funded by a seven-year, £9m Wellcome grant, offers a cutting-edge environment for exploring hidden aspects of cell biology. The Structural Biology Core focuses on protein structure and function across scales. This role involves developing cellular EM capabilities, user training, sample prep, microscopy, data analysis, and project input. Opportunities include single-particle projects, cellular EM, cryo-electron tomography, and CLEM imaging. Equipment includes a Thermo-Fisher Glacios 2, JEOL-1400 EM, and a Zeiss Crossbeam 550 FIB-SEM for cryo-ET applications. More details are available at: https://biology.ed.ac.uk/drp.
