We are seeking an experienced Electromechanical / Mechanical Design Engineer to work with our client, with hybrid attendance at Cheadle or Templecombe, delivering support to manufacturing, product development, and addressing in-service issues. The successful candidate preferably should have experience working on marine sonar or towed array products. However, suitably experienced mechanical/electrical design candidates will be considered for the role.

We are looking for an energetic and driven engineer with broad expertise; however, of particular interest would be candidates with military and/or aerospace experience.

Responsibilities

The Electromechanical / Mechanical Design Engineer will perform, but is not limited to, the following activities centred on the provision of marine outboard hardware related to a towed array:

  • Creation of General Arrangement drawings and Wiring Schematics
  • Creation of PTS/Test Documentation
  • Creation of Family Tree/Bill of Materials (BoM)
Qualifications
  • Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline
  • A lower qualification would be acceptable, for example, HNC/HND, should the candidate be able to demonstrate significant demonstrable experience in lieu

Experience
  • Post-graduate relevant work experience
  • Defence, Aerospace, or Oil and Gas work experience would suit this role
  • Design engineering, mechanical and/or electrical/electronic, with the capability to support design and installation activities
  • The ability to support across the full Engineering Development Lifecycle
