Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years, preferably on-site.
  • Previous experience as 'Cable Installation Chargehand (Blue Hat)' on HPC is a plus.

  • Provides preventive and corrective maintenance services.

Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater (UK)

Activity: Commissioning, Technical assistance, maintenance, troubleshooting of Polar cranes

Our activity on Site:

APCO Technologies is an Equipment Manufacturer of High-Safety handing equipment for nuclear power plants. We are a key contributor to the Hinkley Point C project by installing, commissioning and maintaining the Polar Cranes previously built in our factory located in Aigle (Switzerland).

The Polar Crane is a heavy electromechanical rotating crane, extensively used during construction phase for handling activities into the reactor building. Later-on, during operation outages it is a critical system used for all the reactor building heavy liftings.

Main duties:

Within the APCO UK Services team, the assignee :

  • Supervises the installation of Polar Cranes
  • Participates to the Commissioning of Polar Cranes
  • Provides preventive and corrective maintenance services for Polar Cranes
  • Applies rules related to Quality, Safety and Security in the Nuclear environment

Key skills and experience:

  • High degree in electrotechnics and/or automation systems
  • Proven experience in preventive maintenance of electromechanical systems, preferably for cranes and handling equipment
  • Proven experience in corrective maintenance (troubleshooting) of electromechanical systems
  • Experience: 3-5 years, preferably on-site

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as “Cable Installation Chargehand (Blue Hat)” on HPC is a plus
