Job summary

Metrea is seeking a highly skilled scientist to apply machine learning and data science to complex electromagnetic challenges within the Decision Science Laboratory (DESLAB). You'll design, test, and deploy ML-enabled capabilities that go beyond traditional signal processing, exploring transformers, self-supervised learning, and probabilistic modelling.

Based in the UK with hybrid work, you will collaborate across decision science, electromagnetic simulation, waveform design, and engineering

Qualifications

• Post-doctoral degree in a quantitative field or equivalent with a Master’s.
• Familiarity with CNNs, Transformers, autoencoders, or self-supervised learning.
• Strong Python skills and experience with ML frameworks for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements into technical solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Apply ML and RF analytics to electromagnetic problems.
• Explore modern approaches for electromagnetic sensing and exploitation.
• Design and conduct experiments to assess new algorithms.
• Develop proof-of-concept capabilities and support deployments.
• Coordinate with forward-deployed teammates on constraints.
• Build workflows with MLOps and cloud practices.
• Communicate complex concepts to non-technical users.
• Mentor junior staff and foster collaboration.
