Job summary

EVera Recruitment is seeking an Electrochemist to help characterise cell performance and support the development of advanced battery systems from materials through to cells, modules and packs. Working across engineering, product, testing and commercial teams, you will translate electrochemical insight into practical product improvements, influencing performance, safety, cycle life and scalability.

You will collaborate with quality, operations, modelling and data teams to improve testing

Qualifications

  • PhD in Electrochemistry or related field or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience in electrochemical energy storage or energy conversion technologies.
  • Strong understanding of electrochemical characterization techniques and data interpretation.
  • Experience investigating electrochemical interfaces, degradation mechanisms and cell performance.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and conducting electrochemical experiments to evaluate cell performance and behaviour.
  • Analysing electrochemical data to identify performance improvements, degradation mechanisms and optimisation opportunities.
  • Supporting the development of next-generation cells through material, electrode and cell characterisation activities.
  • Collaborating with engineering, testing and product teams to translate findings into product improvements.
  • Supporting technical discussions with customers, partners and external collaborators.
  • Working closely with quality, operations, modelling and data teams to improve testing methodologies and performance understanding.
  • Contributing to intellectual property generation and technical documentation.

Job description

The Electrochemist will play a key role in characterising cell performance, improving electrochemical understanding and supporting the development of advanced battery systems from materials through to cells, modules and packs.

Working across engineering, product, testing and commercial teams, you will help translate electrochemical insight into practical product improvements, influencing performance, safety, cycle life and scalability.

The Electrochemist will be responsible for:
  • Designing and conducting electrochemical experiments to evaluate cell performance and behaviour.
  • Analysing electrochemical data to identify performance improvements, degradation mechanisms and optimisation opportunities.
  • Supporting the development of next-generation cells through material, electrode and cell characterisation activities.
  • Collaborating with engineering, testing and product teams to translate findings into product improvements.
  • Supporting technical discussions with customers, partners and external collaborators.

The Electrochemist will have:
  • A PhD in Electrochemistry, Electrochemical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience within electrochemical energy storage or energy conversion technologies.
  • Strong understanding of electrochemical characterisation techniques and data interpretation.
  • Experience investigating electrochemical interfaces, degradation mechanisms and cell performance.
  • Strong analytical skills and an enthusiasm for working with large and complex datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
