Job summary

Veolia ES (UK) is seeking an Electro Mechanical Technician in Staffordshire to maintain and repair electro-mechanical systems at an Energy Recovery Facility. The role is 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri, with a starting salary of £50,253.72 per annum and Veolia benefits.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and system inspections, while ensuring compliance with ISO EN standards and environmental regulations. A strong communicator with a proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• A recognised Engineering Apprenticeship with NVQ 3 or equivalent in engineering.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a continuous process industry with electro & mechanical maintenance.
• Good understanding of PLC/DCS architecture and control systems.
• Familiarity with P&IDs, wiring diagrams, panel drawings, pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams.
• Knowledge of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and environmental legislation.
• Able to work a rota including one weekend in four for 365-day maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance in a days-based Mon-Fri role.
• Diagnose faults and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control systems across the Energy Recovery Facility.
• Inspect and maintain LV electrical plant, control gear, VSDs, pumps, fans, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, cranes and valves.
• Maintain accurate CMMS logs, files and drawings for electro-mechanical equipment.
• Liaise with suppliers and contractors, ensuring safety and company procedures.
• Propose modifications to plant and equipment while complying with ISO EN9001, EN14001 and EN18001.

What you'll be doing;

• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance in a days based Mon-Fri Role
• Carrying out fault diagnosis and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems across the Energy Recovery Facility
• Inspecting, repairing and maintaining LV electrical plant, control gear, variable speed drives, pumps, fans, conveyors, Motors & gearbox drives, Overhead hoist cranes and valves.
• Maintaining accurate files, logs and drawings for all electro-mechanical equipment using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Liaising with and overseeing suppliers and contractors carrying out electro-mechanical tasks, ensuring compliance with company procedures and safe working systems
• Proposing and developing modifications and improvements to plant and apparatus, whilst ensuring compliance with ISO EN9001, EN14001 and EN18001 standards

What we're looking for;

• A recognised Engineering Apprenticeship with a minimum of NVQ 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
• Minimum 3 years experience in a continuous process industry with knowledge of electro & mechanical maintenance techniques.
• A heavy industry background is advantageous but not essential.
• A good understanding of PLC/DCS architecture and associated control systems
• Familiarity with P&IDs, wiring diagrams, panel drawings , pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams
• An understanding of Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and relevant environmental legislation
• Ability to work a rota including one weekend in four working to provide maintenance cover 365 days per year
• A strong communicator who is self motivated, adaptable and able to work with minimum supervision
