Rapiscan Systems is a leader in detection technology, providing cargo and vehicle inspection systems for ports, borders, military, high-threat facilities, and checkpoints. Our solutions help combat terrorism, drug smuggling, illegal immigration, and trade fraud using advanced X-ray technologies.

Role Overview

The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for assembling and integrating complex X-ray machines, including mechanical fitting, cabling, and integrating PCBs, servers, cooling systems, HV power supplies, and more.

Responsibilities

• Build Real Time Topology machines from engineering drawings and instructions
• Perform repairs and rework on mechanical assemblies
• Interpret electrical schematics and troubleshoot faults
• Ensure quality in all aspects of build, including documentation and self-checks
• Maintain production throughput targets
• Support manufacturing processes and store/stock control
• Contribute to Lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist with prototype assembly and project work in manufacturing engineering
• Adhere strictly to safety practices

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in assembling complex electro-mechanical products
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently with minimal supervision
• Good communication skills and adaptability
• Basic testing and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to follow procedures and produce high-quality work
• Team support skills and initiative
• GCSEs in Maths and English
• Strong mechanical and workshop skills
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical documentation and safety standards
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, BPD, and Continuous Improvement
• Day shift: Monday-Thursday 08:00-16:00, Friday 08:00-15:30
