Job Description:

Our client is a dynamic and innovative leader in automation, robotics, and system integration. Specialising in complete dynamic automation projects, they design and install machines, robot cells, software modifications, and bespoke tooling for various industrial applications. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a highly motivated and versatile Electro-Mechanical Engineer / Multiskilled Engineer to join their team.

About the Role

As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will design, fabricate, and troubleshoot advanced automation solutions. You’ll work across electrical and mechanical disciplines, collaborating with the team to deliver reliable systems. The role involves travel across the UK and occasionally Europe, sometimes working independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and wire control panels for automation systems and robotic applications
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications
• Program PLCs (Siemens or Rockwell preferred)
• Support control and automation systems
• Fabricate mechanical components using drilling, grinding, welding, etc.
• Collaborate with design teams to realize mechanical concepts

Troubleshooting & Problem Solving

• Identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues
• Implement troubleshooting techniques to minimize downtime
• Develop solutions for engineering challenges

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience in designing and wiring control panels
• Ability to program PLCs (Siemens or Rockwell preferred)
• Mechanical fabrication skills, including welding, grinding, drilling
• Understanding of electrical systems and troubleshooting
• Experience with cable management and installation
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment
• Background in Maintenance Engineering within Food / FMCG is preferred
