About the Role:
Our Design Engineers play a pivotal role in BSI's Product Certification business, specifically within the Energy Practice in Loughborough. The position is responsible for conceiving, designing, and delivering customized testing rigs, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Design and develop testing rigs, focusing on control elements and automated equipment.
- Lead construction and testing, including FAT & SAT assessments.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and interpret complex regulations.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation and schematics.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support project validation.
- Identify process improvements and ensure safety protocols are followed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control engineering principles.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
- Experience with simulation tools like FEA or CFD.
- Knowledge of industry standards and project management.
- Ability to analyze costs and stay updated with emerging technologies.
