Express Employment is partnering with a local manufacturing client in Howell, MI to fill a direct hire Electro-Mechanical CNC Service Engineer role. If you thrive on diagnosing controls, repairing CNCs, and keeping production humming, this 3rd-shift position is for you.

What you will do

  • Own preventive maintenance on facility and production equipment with daily, weekly, and monthly PMs and complete documentation.
  • Perform inspections: belts, lubrication levels, filters, bearings, and seals.
  • Tackle electrical faults: shorts, open circuits, loose terminations, switches, and component-level failures.
  • Fix mechanical problems: worn parts, lubrication issues, leaks, failed cylinders, and general rebuilds.
  • Support start-ups in assigned areas, resolve issues found, close work orders, and respond to maintenance calls.
  • Organize and maintain the spare parts crib and all required records.
  • Lead equipment moves, upgrades, and CNC machine installations and recommissions.
  • Apply hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting best practices with strict adherence to LOTO and confined space procedures.

Tech stack you will touch

  • Fanuc-controlled 3–4 axis vertical machining centers
  • 2–4 axis CNC lathes
  • Fanuc PLCs and industrial automation hardware

Must-haves

  • Deep equipment troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
  • Hands-on hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
  • Electrical diagnostics for 120/208/240/480 VAC and other high-voltage systems; electrical repair competency.
  • Experience with motor replacement, repair, and maintenance; industrial motor control knowledge .
  • CNC repair and troubleshooting, including axis drives, servos, and controls.
  • CNC and PLC troubleshooting experience; general controls knowledge .
  • Industrial lift truck troubleshooting and repair capability.
  • Exposure to industrial robot programming and automation troubleshooting.
  • Mechanical testing and validation skills.
  • LOTO certification and awareness of confined space safety.

Schedule and pay

  • 3rd shift: Monday–Friday, 10:00 pm–6:30 am
  • Weekend OT as needed
  • Direct hire
  • Compensation depends on experience; typically 27–32 per hour, with flexibility for exceptional fit
