Job Description

Partially or completely assembles electromechanical products such as handling devices, robotics, and mechanical assemblies to meet drawing specifications under supervision. This position will also assist with loading and unloading large crates of product. The role is primarily based at our Manchester, NH facility, with occasional travel to our Nashua, NH facility.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Utilizes basic assembly techniques to assemble components correctly.
  • Uses hand tools, powered drivers, torque wrenches, and other basic hand tools.
  • Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners as specified by drawings.
  • Recognizes potential quality deficiencies in assemblies and notifies the department lead.
  • Assists with shipping and receiving activities.
  • Maintains a professional, safe, and clean environment by being punctual, following company policies, wearing safety glasses, and adhering to safety practices.
  • Fosters teamwork by establishing effective relationships with managers and co-workers to achieve shared goals.
  • Adheres to GSM Code of Ethics and Business Conduct, complying with all applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, with less than 3 years of related experience/training, or equivalent combination. Willing to train the right candidate.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, sketches, and instructions.
  • Ability to work in a small, autonomous team and stay focused.
  • Ability to safely load large components (+/-50 lbs) into crates with assistance.
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Experience operating forklifts is a plus; training available for the right candidate.
  • Ability to balance safety, quality, productivity, and employee relations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to listen actively, control emotions, and be receptive to ideas.
  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required, as GSM is a government contractor.
