We are looking for two Restoration Engineers to be part of the growing Resilience and Emergency Management Directorate. This exciting opportunity will allow the post holder to understand and assess the most significant risks to the energy system, and work with Government and industry to mitigate them.
As a Restoration Engineer, you will be providing assurance of the NESO’s Electricity System Restoration (ESR) capability and creating the strategic direction for system restoration following a partial or total shutdown. You will also liaise with industry stakeholders to develop and validate restoration strategies and plans for times of extreme system distress.
This role can be based in Wokingham, Warwick, or Glasgow, with hybrid working options. We are open to full-time, part-time, and flexible working arrangements.

In Autumn 2024, the ESO transitioned to NESO, the independent body responsible for planning and operating Great Britain’s electricity and gas networks, with complete operational independence.

Salary: £45,000-£65,000 per annum, dependent on experience. Includes performance bonus, 26 days annual leave, and a contributory pension scheme with company matching up to 12%.
