A&P Tyne – Electricians 12 month Fixed term Contract

We are looking for time-served Electricians to join the maintenance team within our Tyne facility while we navigate a number of exciting customer projects. We have a pipeline of work to keep you busy for years ahead so if you're someone who doesn't compromise on quality there may be a permanent position for you at a later date.

You'll be working on a variety of tasks, from repairs to routine maintenance and new projects that will keep our teams running, safe and compliant.

So, what will you do?

  • You'll have a real mix of work including Electrical Maintenance across a range of Buildings, Machinery and Systems including Fabrication Sheds, Dry Docks, Fitting Shops, Domestic Installations, Services to ships, Generators, Pumps, Docking Equipment.
  • We're a 24 / 7 operation so planned work tends to take place during the day but there might be some unexpected evening / weekend work, which you'd be rewarded for supporting our teams by ensuring minimal downtime and efficient operation of our facility and equipment.
  • You'll troubleshoot and repair electrical faults as they happen ensuring all electrical work complies with health, safety, and quality standards.

And what are we looking for?

  • 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations qualification is essential.
  • Experience in electrical maintenance, ideally within a heavy engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently in a highly regulated, safety conscious environment.
  • A lot of our work is done at height so if you have a certificate to operate a scissor lift or boom lift that would be great!
