The Vacancy

Due to significant growth and recent large property acquisition, we’re excited to announce two newly created roles within our Direct Labour Operation (DLO).
We’re looking for two new Electricians to join our busy Reactive Repairs team on a fixed-term basis.

If you're a qualified Electrician who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working independently, and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Responding to a high volume of emergency and reactive electrical repairs in our customers’ homes.
  • Working mostly alone, with occasional team-ups for larger or more complex jobs.
  • Diagnosing and resolving faults quickly and effectively, aiming for a first-time fix.
  • Maintaining accurate records and completing all necessary documentation.
  • Representing Paradigm professionally and courteously at all times.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with current regulations.
  • Keeping your van stocked and tools in good order.
  • Optionally participating in out-of-hours work (voluntary, not required).

What you’ll need:

  • City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1–3 or equivalent
  • City & Guilds 2330 Level 3 or equivalent
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Experience in housing repairs and maintenance
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • A full, clean UK driving licence
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Basic understanding of Health & Safety legislation

Bonus if you also have:

  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing

Why join Paradigm?

  • Be part of a growing, supportive team making a real difference in people’s lives.
  • Work with a respected housing provider committed to quality and customer care.
  • Enjoy a role with variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to develop your skills.
  • Access to a company van, tools and uniform
  • Optional overtime for those who want to boost their earnings.

Area of Operations:
Paradigm Housing Group manages a diverse portfolio of 17,000 properties located across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Greater London, and surrounding areas. In this role, you will be required to travel throughout our property network to carry out Electrical repairs and ensure the continued safety and integrity of our homes.

Where could this role take you?

Whilst this is not currently a permanent role, in a business our size and with the transformation we are going through, there is a possibility that this could either be extended, made permanent or other opportunities may arise. Many of our talented colleagues started at Paradigm as temporary/interim and have gone on to forge successful careers with us. However, if something longer-term doesn’t materialise, you will still gain valuable experience, which will add to your employability in this and similar fields.
