Job summary

Join the Facilities Management team at HMP & YOI Bronzefield (Ashford, Surrey) with Sodexo. The role offers a £45,000 annual salary for 37.5 hours weekly, with an early start and a mix of fault-finding, testing and planned maintenance across electrical systems.

There is potential to develop towards Low Voltage Authorised Person status, subject to site needs, training and assessment, in a secure prison environment where safety and professional conduct are paramount.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation or Building Services.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification held.
• City & Guilds Level 3 Inspection and Testing or equivalent.
• 2–3 years recent electrical maintenance experience in commercial/technical env.
• Ability to interpret drawings, schematics and O&M manuals.

Responsibilities

• Complete planned and reactive electrical maintenance, fault-finding, testing and repairs.
• Maintain distribution equipment, lighting, emergency lighting and small power.
• Support generators, standby power, UPS/IPS, fire alarm interfaces and BMS within competence.
• Carry out like-for-like replacements and minor electrical works.
• Follow permits, isolation, lock-off and safe working procedures.
• Keep accurate maintenance, testing and compliance records and report defects promptly.
• Supervise and escort contractors, assist apprentices and colleagues.
• Participate in out-of-hours call-out rota and weekend work as needed.
