Overview

Job Title: Electrician

Job Location: Reading, RG1

Job Type: Contract

Pay Rate: £24-26/hour CIS

Start date: ASAP

Contract Duration: Through to January 2026

We are currently recruiting for qualified and experienced Electricians to join a major residential development project located in Reading, RG1. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a skilled team working on the 2nd fix stage of a 144-unit flat project. Successful candidates will be responsible for a range of tasks essential to the completion of this high-specification build. You’ll be expected to demonstrate both technical expertise and a professional approach to working on a fast-paced site.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out 2nd fix electrical installation work across a large-scale residential development
• Cable pulling and routing to specification and plan
• Installing, testing, and commissioning of mains power systems
• Fuse board work, including wiring and testing to meet required safety standards
• Ensuring all work complies with current electrical regulations and site safety requirements
• Liaising with site supervisors and other trades to ensure smooth workflow

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• ECS Card – Must be valid and in date
• CSCS Card – Required for site access
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation – Essential
• Proven experience working on similar large residential new build sites desirable

Site Requirements

• Full 5-point PPE is mandatory (Hard Hat, Hi-Vis Vest, Safety Boots, Safety Glasses, Gloves)
• All operatives must complete a site induction prior to starting work
• Must be punctual, reliable, and capable of working as part of a team or independently
