Job description

Electrician - £35,000 per annum (depending on experience)

As an Electrician, you’ll be part of a close-knit team maintaining, repairing, and upgrading electrical systems across our varied and historic estate. This is a hands-on, dynamic role that will see you respond to reactive issues, deliver planned preventative maintenance, and contribute to project installations.

Using a tablet and our digital CAFM system, you'll manage jobs efficiently and keep accurate records, helping us maintain high standards in every corner of the School. You'll also play a key role in ensuring compliance, safety, and energy efficiency across our buildings.

Hours: 39 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Key Responsibilities

  1. Respond to and resolve electrical faults and breakdowns
  2. Carry out planned maintenance and complete remedial works following EICR inspections
  3. Support small installation projects including lighting, power and data
  4. Maintain accurate technical records using the CAFM system
  5. Deliver work in line with health and safety regulations and School policies
  6. Support energy efficiency initiatives and sustainable working practices
  7. Contribute to the overall maintenance of our estate by supporting broader estates tasks where appropriate

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications:

  1. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2230 or equivalent trade qualification (essential)
  2. 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (essential)
  3. 2391 Electrical Inspection and Testing (preferred)
  4. Full UK Driving Licence (essential) – vehicle provided for work
