Job summary

Progress Housing Group is seeking a hands-on Multi-Skilled Electrician to maintain and repair electrical systems across its housing stock in Leyland. You will work on domestic installations, diagnose faults, and perform testing in occupied and void properties while following safety standards.

The role offers a local, community-based workload with structured hours, ongoing training and clear career progression within Property Services. A company van is provided for work use.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
• City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing) or equivalent.
• Strong electrical repairs, maintenance and installation experience.
• Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage own workload.
• Experience in occupied/tenanted properties.
• Confident using mobile job management systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Carry out domestic electrical repairs, maintenance and small installations.
• Diagnose faults and repair right first time where possible.
• Complete electrical inspection and testing, including EICR where qualified.
• Ensure work is safe and in line with BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
• Work safely in tenants’ homes and support void property turnaround.
• Utilise mobile technology to update jobs in real time.
• Perform basic making-good (minor joinery/plumbing) where required.
• Participate in on-call rota (approx 1 in 20 weeks).

About The Role - Multi-Skilled Electrician

As a Multi-Skilled Electrician, you’ll carry out domestic electrical repairs, maintenance, fault-finding, testing and small installations across Progress Housing Group properties.

This is a hands-on, field-based Electrician role covering occupied and void properties. You’ll help keep homes safe, compliant and comfortable, while supporting responsive repairs and efficient void turnaround.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carrying out domestic electrical repairs, maintenance and small electrical installations
• Diagnosing electrical faults and completing repairs right first time wherever possible
• Completing electrical inspection and testing, including EICR work, where qualified
• Ensuring work is completed safely and in line with BS7671 Wiring Regulations
• Working safely and respectfully in tenants’ homes
• Supporting void property turnaround by completing electrical works efficiently for faster re-lets
• Using mobile technology to manage and update jobs in real time
• Completing basic making‑good (minor joinery/plumbing) where required
• Participating in the on‑call rota (1 in 20 weeks approx)

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a qualified Electrician with strong domestic electrical experience, good fault‑finding skills and a customer‑focused approach to working in people’s homes.
