Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrician to support naval vessel construction and outfitting at Scotstoun, Scotland. Marine electrical expertise and the ability to install complex cabling are essential.

You will read schematics, terminate cables, and work with other trades to meet defence-sector standards, with a 12-month PAYE/Umbrella contract and a rate of £28.80 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Previous marine/shipbuilding electrical experience is essential.
  • Experience in electrical installation, assembly or maintenance.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience installing and terminating a range of cable types.
  • Strong understanding of electrical installation practices.
  • High standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
  • Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Installing and routing electrical cabling, including multi-core, single-core, coaxial and fibre optic cables.
  • Carrying out cable reeving, dressing, banding, glanding and terminations.
  • Installing and aligning electrical equipment including junction boxes, fuse panels, transformers, switchgear and consoles.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
  • Carrying out electrical installation, inspection and testing activities.
  • Working safely and in line with HSE and quality requirements.
  • Working alongside other trades to support vessel build programmes.

We are looking for experienced Electricians with marine experience to support the construction and outfitting of naval vessels at Scotstoun.

Marine experience is essential for this role.

The Role
