Location: HMP Leyhill, Totworth, Gloucester GL12 8BT

Salary: £36,000 per year

Contract: Permanent, Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week

Job Description:

We are seeking a fully qualified Level 3 Electrician to join our team at HMP Leyhill, a category D, adult male prison. Join a team that works Monday to Friday as a supportive and driven family, creating a safe and nurturing environment.

HMP Leyhill functions like a self-contained town, requiring hundreds of staff to operate. As part of the Facilities Maintenance Team, your role is crucial in ensuring smooth and safe operations, impacting prisoners, staff, visitors, and the wider community.

You will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a secure environment.

1. Two years’ experience working as an electrician
2. Experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems
3. Knowledge of planned preventive maintenance operations
4. Electrician qualification to C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
5. 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations
6. Certificate in BS7671
7. Good Health & Safety knowledge
8. Excellent organisational, time management, and people skills
