Electrician
Location: HMP Bure
Salary: £38,333 + 5% shift allowance
Contract: Full Time/Permanent

Job Overview

We are seeking a fully qualified Electrician to join our Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP Bure, a CATEGORY C Adult/Male prison. The role involves maintaining electrical systems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform planned and preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
  2. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  3. Collaborate with a team of maintenance professionals including plumbers, carpenters, and cleaners.
  4. Contribute to creating a safe environment for staff, prisoners, and visitors.
Qualifications
  • Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition).
  • Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S).
  • At least two years of experience as a fully qualified electrician.
  • Experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems.
  • Good knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance.
  • Strong health and safety awareness.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
