Job Opportunity: Electrician

Our client, located in the Stourbridge area, has an urgent need for an Electrician to work within their Foundry.

Job Duties:
  • Install and maintain electrical systems
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Work with high-voltage equipment
  • Calibrate and repair automation equipment
  • Read and interpret technical schematics
  • Assist in equipment installation and upgrades
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns
  • Document work and maintain logs
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and part replacements
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams
The Package:
  • Basic GBP 37,500 (40 hours/week)
  • Hourly rate: GBP 18.03
  • Overtime rate for Saturday: GBP 22.03
  • Day shift / dual site
  • 25 days annual leave plus 8 statutory days
Hours:
  • Typically 5:00-15:00 or 7:00-17:00; operation involves 12-hour day shifts and 10-hour night shifts
  • Days are Monday to Friday
  • Nights are Monday to Thursday
  • Saturday shifts are from 5:00 to 11:00; team rotates coverage on Saturdays
  • In case of breakdowns at shift end, the team works together to ensure operations resume the following morning
Requirements:
  • Foundry-related experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Strong problem-solving skills are essential
  • Open to candidates from any background, provided they focus on development, teamwork, and are willing to collaborate with mechanical engineers to share workload and handle priorities such as unplanned maintenance or breakdowns
  • Candidates with experience only in food industries may not find the environment suitable
  • We contribute more to pensions than the statutory requirement
  • Holidays are fully flexible within the engineering department and organized on a first-come, first-served basis
  • The operation has fixed shutdowns, but engineers work through them
