Job summary

Mears Group in Thurrock is seeking a skilled Electrician to maintain, repair and install electrical systems across both void and occupied properties. This field-based role emphasizes safety, compliance, and timely repairs within a growing local footprint.

You will perform reactive and planned maintenance, with opportunities for growth. A valid NVQ Level 3 and 18th Edition are required, along with a clean driving licence and experience in social housing.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
• Experience in domestic or social housing is desirable.
• Excellent fault-finding and customer communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform reactive repairs to lighting, sockets, fuseboards and electrical systems.
• Inspect and test installations for safety and regulatory compliance.
• Replace or repair faulty switches, outlets, light fittings and breakers.
• Work independently or in a team to meet daily repair targets.
• Communicate clearly with tenants about repairs and outcomes.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas after completing tasks.
