Job description
Overview

Suitably qualified electricians are required to repair, install, maintain and monitor the City's Street lighting network in a safe manner and in compliance with electrical technical standards. You will be a City & Guilds, SVQ Level 3 Approved Electrician / Electrician after serving a recognised apprenticeship. City & Guilds 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2018), valid Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS) card and Health & Safety Assessment certificate is essential. City & Guilds Electrical Testing and Inspection and Scottish Power ERG39 authorisation (WI-1, OP-3 limited to L-30) desirable.

You must have a good working knowledge of the current Wiring Regulations, Technical Standards and Codes of Practice for electrical distribution. You must be able to provide customer service, have good communication/organisational skills and have the ability to make decisions/manage change/deliver results. A current driving licence and the ability to work at heights is essential.

Authorisation and previous experience in public lighting installation maintenance is desirable as is a LGV Driving licence, Class C1 or driving licence gained prior to 1st January 1997, Spider Training (Static Boom) IPAF (1b) and Driver's Certificate of Professional Competence. A 4 on/4 off working pattern is in operation which includes weekend working.
