Electrician – Environment
Plymouth or Exeter
Role Overview:
An opportunity has arisen for an Electrician to join the team at Galliford Try. Reporting to the Site Supervisor/Manager and coordinated by the Project Engineers, you will be responsible for the Electrical installation/Maintenance on Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, Pumping Stations and General industries such as Mines & Quarrying, Environmental Agency facilities and Local Authority infrastructure.

It should be noted that this role may require the successful applicant to participate in an ‘on-call’ rota to provide emergency breakdown attendance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Responsible for the Health & Safety of themselves & others
  2. Carrying out installations/maintenance to the required standard and within the required time frame
  3. Complete site documentation as required
  4. Red-lining on site ‘Issued for Construction’ drawings, marking them ‘As-Built’
  5. Innovate, providing suggestions and ideas to the Site Supervisor/Manager for improved delivery
  6. Check goods delivered to site are supplied as per order
  7. Identifying changes to the works information and reporting to the Site Supervisor/Manager
  8. Emergency ‘call out’ fault finding and diagnostics

To complete the responsibilities, Galliford Try will provide power tools, a van, career progression and opportunities for overtime.

Experience and Qualifications:
  1. Industrial electrical installation/maintenance background
  2. An industry applicable ONC/NVQ/City & Guilds
  3. Demonstrable experience of working within the water and/or wastewater and general industries
  4. Testing & Inspection qualification an advantage but not a necessity
  5. Knowledge and understanding of electrical drawings and schematics
  6. 18th Edition wiring regulations
  7. Experience on installation of SWA, Tray, Trunking, Plastic Conduit etc
  8. Knowledge of instrumentation used in the water/general industry
  9. ECS, SSSTS, Confined Space Training, EUSR (Clean Water Hygiene).
