Job summary

Build Recruitment Limited is seeking an Electrician for a social housing portfolio in Yeovil. Initially temporary to permanent after a 12-week period, with full-time hours and a focus on high-standard repairs, installations and testing.

You will work across domestic properties, liaising with residents and colleagues, and adhering to BS7671 and safety procedures. A DBS check is required; training and long-term progression are available.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Electrician with relevant practical experience.
• City & Guilds 2391/2360 Parts 1 & 2, 2351, 2330 Levels 2 & 3 or equivalent.
• Strong BS7671 knowledge with testing and commissioning.
• Excellent customer service and IT skills; Basic DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical repairs, installations, servicing, inspection and testing to a high standard.
• Diagnose faults including domestic rewiring, kitchen and bathroom works, and full property rewires.
• Complete work safely in accordance with BS7671 and company procedures.
• Liaise with residents and colleagues, keeping customers informed about work.
• Carry out planned and reactive electrical works, including out-of-hours rota.

Temporary to Permanent Yeovil Full-Time

Are you a qualified Electrician looking for a secure, long-term opportunity? Do you have experience carrying out electrical repairs and maintenance within domestic properties?

We are currently recruiting for anElectricianto work for a leadingsocial housing provider in Yeovil. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electrician who takes pride in their work, provides excellent customer service and wants to build a long-term career.

You will be required to successfully complete12 weeks as a temporary workerbefore being considered for a permanent position with the client.

The Role

As an Electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out electrical repairs, maintenance, installations and testing across a large portfolio of social housing properties.

• Carry out electrical repairs, installations, servicing, inspection and testing to a high standard, with a strong focus on achieving a first-time fix.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults, including domestic rewiring, kitchen and bathroom works and full property rewires.
• Complete all work safely and in accordance withBS7671, health and safety legislation and relevant company procedures.
• Liaise professionally with residents and colleagues, keeping customers informed about work being completed and providing excellent customer service.
• Carry out planned and reactive electrical works, including emergency call-outs and out-of-hours work as part of a rota.

What We're Looking For

• A fully qualified Electrician withAchievement Measurement 2and relevant practical experience.
• Relevant electrical qualifications, such asCity & Guilds 2391, 2360 Parts 1 & 2, 2351, 2330 Levels 2 & 3, NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installationor an approved equivalent.
• Strong practical knowledge ofBS7671, including inspection, testing and commissioning of electrical installations.2394/2395 or equivalentis desirable.
• Excellent customer service, communication and IT skills, with a strong commitment to health and safety. ABasic DBS checkwill be required and funded by the employer.
