Job summary

RSE is seeking a fully qualified electrician to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will work with established teams on projects across the UK water sector, performing installation, maintenance, and testing of electrical systems.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of £22.25 with enhanced overtime, plus a range of benefits. Travel and accommodation are provided, with a subsistence allowance. A UK driving licence and up-to-date ECS/BS 7671 qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified electrician with installation and maintenance experience.
• ECS Grading Card – current/in date.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical standards and regulations.
• Experience with electrical installations in industrial environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install cable containment systems to a high standard safely
• Install, gland, terminate cable systems per BS 7671 and drawings
• Install electrical equipment per BS 7671 and manufacturer instructions
• Test electrical systems and continuity with testing devices
• Diagnose faulty systems and locate causes of breakdowns
• Work at height to install or repair wiring, equipment, and fixtures
• Inspect systems to identify hazards and ensure compliance
• Advise management on potential hazards of continued operation
• Plan layout and installation based on job specs and standards

What Are We Looking For?

We are looking for Electricians with installation/maintenance experience to join our business on a full time, permanent basis. You’ll be working with established teams to assist in our continued successful delivery of projects across the UK for our clients within the Water industry.

Please note there is travel and working away from home required as part of this role with accommodation provided by RSE, as well as a healthy subsistence allowance.

Some Of Your Key Duties Include

• Install cable containment systems to a high standard safely
• Install, gland, terminate cable systems mainly used in the industrial sector to BS 7671 and supplied drawings
• Install electrical equipment to BS 7671 and manufacturer’s instructions
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of system
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem
• Work at height to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures (using appropriate safety equipment and adhering to safe working procedures)
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and standards

What Do You Need?

• Fully qualified electrician with skill in the installation and repair of all types of electrical equipment and components
• Demonstrable experience in electrical systems installation or maintenance will be considered
• ECS Grading Card – must be current/in date (BS 7671 Training, Approved Health and Safety Assessment)
• Knowledge of applicable electrical standards and regulations
• Fully qualified to 18th Edition (preferred)
• Water industry experience would be highly advantageous, but other sectors such as heavy industry will also be considered
• Full UK Driving Licence.
