Job summary

RSE is seeking a Commissioning Technician to join us on a permanent basis, assisting in the delivery of projects across England.

You will support Control, Instrumentation and Electrical works – including installation, testing, commissioning and fault finding within MCC’s, industrial instrumentation, analysers, motors, actuators and other equipment used in automated control systems associated with RSE products and client sites.

Qualifications

  • Time served and fully qualified in Instrumentation or Electrical & Electronic discipline.
  • ECS Grading card current; SVQ/NVQ Level 3 and SJIB 18th Edition BS 7671:2012 compliant.
  • Understanding of Control and Instrumentation systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks in high-pressure environments.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake control, instrumentation and electrical works – including installation, testing, commissioning and fault finding.
  • Visit client site for problem solving and scoping of new works.
  • Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on factory equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and line diagrams.
  • Complete and sign off testing documentation.
  • Identify potential additional and future work while on site and pass on to the Project Engineer/Manager.
  • Ensure serviceability and security of allocated plant and equipment.
  • Carry out toolbox talks, permits, review MS & RA.

Job description

What Are We Looking For?

Due to continued growth, RSE is looking for a Commissioning Technician to join us on a permanent basis, assisting in the delivery of our projects across England. You will support with Control, Instrumentation and Electrical works – including installation, testing, commissioning, and fault finding within new and existing MCC’s, industrial instrumentation, analysers, motors, actuators and all other equipment used in the automated control systems associated with RSE products and those used by clients in Water industry.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a keen individual with electrical or instrumentation experience who’s ready to step into a Commissioning role, supported every step of the way by a knowledgeable and experienced team.

Please note this position will require flexibility on working location, with accommodation provided by RSE.

Some Of Your Key Duties Include
  • Undertake Control, Instrumentation and Electrical works – including installation, testing, commissioning and fault finding in RSE workshops or client sites
  • Visit Client site for problem solving / fault finding / scoping of new works
  • Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on RSE Factory equipment as required
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and line diagrams
  • Complete and sign off testing documentation
  • Measure up for materials, respond to emergencies and changes in the work programme, acquiring essential plant and equipment
  • Ensure the serviceability and security of all allocated plant and equipment
  • Where required manage toolbox talks, permits, review MS & RA
  • Compile MS & RA as per Company procedure for the required work
  • Assess tasks ensuring that appropriate certification and equipment is available
  • Complete and deliver any required QA documentation
  • Identify any potential additional and future work while on site and pass on to the Project Engineer/Manager
  • Act at all times as a representative of the Company and ensure that the Client/customer is completely satisfied
  • Carry out all other tasks as requested within the post holder’s appropriate skill set
What Do You Need?
  • Time served fully qualified in Instrumentation or Electrical & Electronic discipline with installation and maintenance experience
  • ECS Grading card – must be current/in date (Qualified to SVQ NVQ Level 3, SJIB recognised 18th Edition Inspection & Testing - BS 7671 2012, Approved Health and Safety Assessment)
  • Understanding of Control and Instrumentation systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to use Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Full UK Driving Licence
